20th August 2021, Nairobi, Kenya– UBA Kenya, a subsidiary of The United Bank for Africa PLC has partnered with the East Africa Law Society (EALS) in an agreement aimed at offering a payment solution through the UBA/EALS Prepaid Affinity Card. This collaboration will enable members of the Law Society to pay for their membership, transact and enjoy discounts at various establishments throughout the East African region.
The East Africa Law Society is the Regional Bar Association of East Africa founded in 1995 by a group of Lawyers with the support of the leadership of The National Bar Associations of the member states in the East African Community. Their membership stretches to over 20,000 lawyers made up of both institutions and individuals. UBA Bank will leverage its presence across 20 countries in Africa to provide the EALS Members with a card solution that enables them to transact within the region and access their funds easily and conveniently. The card will also act as an identity card for lawyers across East Africa.
Speaking during the announcement, The CEO UBA Kenya, Mr. Chike Isiuwe exuded, “This partnership will solidify the Bank’s strategy to provide innovative payment solutions and cross border connectivity across Africa and the East African Region in particular. UBA Kenya Bank facilitates international and regional trade, investments and remittances as well as provides access and convenient banking solutions to Corporates, SME’s and Individuals across the region.” The UBA Kenya collaboration with the East Africa Law Society will in addition provide value in terms of access to hotels, airlines and travel agents within the region and a seamless way to transact globally. “We are proud to partner with UBA Kenya to deliver added value to our members through this partnership. UBA Kenya Bank has recently opened two new branches in Nakuru and Mombasa in an effort to increase its footprint within the country.
